Camellias produce some of the showiest blooms of any evergreen shrub - sasanqua types flower in fall/winter, japonica types in late winter/spring. Part shade with protection from hot afternoon sun and harsh winter wind. Needs consistently acidic, moist, well-drained soil - amend our alkaline clay well, the same challenge as Azalea.
