Privet is a fast, dependable hedge and screening shrub that takes shearing well. Full sun to part shade. In Oklahoma’s milder winters it often holds much of its foliage into late winter rather than dropping cleanly like a true deciduous shrub. Very tolerant of heavy pruning and poor soil.
