Forsythia x intermedia. One of the very first shrubs to bloom each year, covering bare branches in bright yellow flowers before the leaves emerge. Full sun for the heaviest bloom. Fast-growing and tough; blooms on old wood, so prune right after flowering, not in fall or winter.
